Beware the Bird Feeder Bandit

The Bird Feeder BanditIf you have bird feeders in your backyard, chances are at some point you’ve found yourself wondering where your feeder went. Usually, a squirrel will knock it down or sometimes a bear will drag it off, but you probably never fell victim to the bird feeder bandit.

According to FOX59 News, a man brazenly stole a bird feeder from the front of entrance of a doctor’s office in Indianapolis.

As you can see from the video at the link, the man circled the front in his truck for a few minutes to see if anyone was coming. Then, he parked, nonchalantly walked over to the feeder and ripped it right out of the ground.

For this man to shamelessly take a bird feeder from the front steps of a building is remarkable. The only explanation some have come up with is that the man was tired of hearing the dentist talk about her feeder while getting root canals.

The dentist acknowledged that it’s not the crime of the century, but it’s still very bizarre.

“I really don’t know that I have any words to say to him. I don’t. I’m glad he’s not my friend because I cannot imagine any of my friends stealing a birdfeeder,” said Marcia Shoder.

The durable bird feeder in the video was about seven years old and will costs $160 to replace. Maybe this time, the dentist’s office will opt for a bear-proof feeder that will incidentally keep away bird-feeder stealing men.

  1. The same thing happened to our bird feeder outside the dental surgery. We only knew who took it when we found the same feeder being sold in a market nearby!

  2. That’s awful. I hope you were able to get it back.
