Mount a bluebird feeder in a location where bluebirds have been seen, but not too close to the bluebird house. This may attract predators to the nest box. Observing bluebirds could provide hours of enjoyment and may help this special species survive adverse conditions.

Bluebirds love mealworms. They can be purchased at most local sporting or fishing stores where they are sold for bait. Mealworms are insects, not really worms. The mealworm is the larval form of the beetle. They make excellent food for bluebirds and can be added to your blue bird feeder. Some bluebird enthusiasts provide these worms so that incubating females have a ready supply of food for their young and do not need to travel a great distance to find food for the fledglings.
