For hundreds of years, the covered bridge has been a popular structure in folklore and fiction. Its novel design and wooden trusses add to the quaint atmosphere of hometown America.
To honor the picturesque structures, Home Bazaar designed this covered bridge bird feeder as a tribute to the 19th century staple of engineering ingenuity.
Once numbering into the tens of thousands, only a couple of hundred covered bridges remain in the United States. This beautifully designed fly-thru feeder perfectly captures the spirit and essense of the covered bridge.
The feeder is constructed of exterior grade ply-board with scroll work trusses. These provide support for the black pine-shingled roof. All the surfaces of the feeder are finished with outdoor paint to ensure the colors remain fresh and vivid.
The open area inside the feeder offers enough space to put out a variety of bird food to accommodate many different species.
