Alaskan hummingbirds drink nectar from human hands

Hummingbirds are known for being comfortable interacting with humans, especially if it’s advantageous to their feeding habbits. These athletic birds have extraordinary metabolisms and often consume up to half of their body weight in one day in order to fuel their bodies.

So, when it comes to drinking nectar, a hummingbird is inclined to do about anything to get its fill, including slurping up sugar water from human hands.  Check out the video below, which shows how hummingbird enthusiasts in Alaska were able to hand feed hummingbirds.
